Just one quick question are there any tricks to installing the distributor on the 3.5 rover EFI V8
Took mine out and now i cant get it to run

you need to make sure that the rotor arm is aligined with the plug lead no.1.
It's easy to get it 180 degrees out of phase, resulting in back-firing through the inlet. _________________ Eliot

Anywhere you like!
If you dont have any reference - the best thing is to start from scratch:
Take the right hand rocker cover off and observe the inlet and exhaust valves opening and closing. Manually turn the engine around, once the inlet valve closes - the next TDC is No.1 Firing position.
Align the rotor with a tower on the cap - this will become No.1 (make sure there is enough room to swing the dizzy around either side of that to set the final timing)
Then in a clockwise direction add the rest of the HT leads in firing order. _________________ Eliot
