I use excellent tenscripting VB environment for developing and testing the script, when you press run (or run the event in homeseer) if everything is working it should post the values to the IOT hub.  You can use the hub explorer to ensure the data arrived correctly.

Once this is working, you would typically create an Azure stream analytics job to process the messages.
